socius design began in 2020 as a one-woman interior design, contractor and finish carpentry business. A love of lighting, the details that make a space come alive, good design and the creative process led to a design studio and retail boutique hybrid, with particular focus toward being a resource: the place you come to get inspired; find unique pieces for your home and self; source hardware, wallpaper, tile, custom cabinet fronts and other supplies; and explore your own design style and creativity.
The goods and decor that we stock -- many of which are artist designed or made -- highlight thoughtful design and craftsmanship, are equally as functional as they are inspirational. They range from stunning light fixtures, to handmade textiles, home decor and personal goods; creative kits and supplies, to wallpaper, hardware and the utilitarian objects that help along the way.
We curate a collection of products and materials from artists, makers & manufacturers who inspire us with their craft, who care about how these items are produced and live within the world. Many of our brands and makers are B corporation certified, which means they have to meet strict standards of practice and production that take into account the environment, materials used and waste reduction.
The artists, brands and makers we partner and collaborate with are both local and from all over the world. We value and love all the different perspectives that exist.
